“Pesto”

By Sophia Bouhaddou

You have the red sauce and i have the green

I don’t understand you, to me your thoughts are quite obscene.

Your hair is pink, purple, and brown

Your eyes are yellow and your smile in a frown.

You don’t get me, nor do i get you. But we still sit here eating stew.

My sauce is green and yours red

You chose rock and i chose classic instead.

I see you living and i want to stop it or slow it down

I want to change your hair color back to its natural brown.

I want you to live out my regrets, but you wont, and that’s just what i don’t get.

Why wont you put less cheese on your sauce, why wont you give that salad a right other toss?!

Why wont you chose the green over the red? Why wont you go my way instead?

Your tears remain to be seen, as you have the red and i have the green

Why wont you go my way, why wont you conform? Why wont you chose my sauce instead of choosing yours?

Why do we constantly argue an endless brew, I don’t know why, i don’t have a clue?

I tell you you’re grosse and not lean because you chose the red and not the green.

But as we swim laps you pass without a thought, maybe my sauce isn’t all that!

But i don’t think that way, green is better than red!!

So why is your red plate empty and my green full and me un-fed?
